Welcome to Burwash Bike Box Hire
Hello, thanks for reading my blog.
Up until 2010, as a daily cycle commuter from Bromley SE London to the City, we eventually took the plunge to move to rural East Sussex and as an avid follower of the Tour de France taking regular visits to the tour.

Each Christmas I would upgrade parts of my bike, by going to Cycle King Croydon Boxing Day sale looking at the latest equipment upgrades along with better winter clothing (got to keep warm).
A funny anecdote, I remember buying my 1st thermal team branded jacket, wearing it for the first time on a cold frosty morning, only to arrive at work absolutely frozen to the core . The technology was basic compared to today’s thermal clothing.
For my ride home I wore all my work clothes plus my cycling clothes

London to Brighton Ride

Having previously ridden 120 miles that week commuting to the city, I have fond memories riding the London to Brighton, starting at Clapham Common on a normal blistering hot June day.
After the ride to Brighton I would catch the train back from Brighton to a close station, and then cycle another 15 miles home. Monday morning, back on the bike to cycle to work.
Cape Argus – Cape Town
In March 2010, I rode the Cape Town Cape Argus and rented a bike case for my trip Cape Town.
The race started in 1978 with 528 cyclist, and now the event has over 34,000 riders leaving Cape Town financial centre and when I rode the event, finished at the football World Cup Stadium at Green Park Point covering 116km and is the world largest timed cycle race. An amazing ride and day.

That was a good read, Paul. Like the early thermal jacket technology – almost like bacofoil! The South Africa ride must be a great memory, despite the undoubted aches and pains. Calvi was well worth the effort. Wow, time flies … four and a half years ago now. Chris
Cheers mate I am surprised where the time goes
